Rafting & Tubing, 2-3 Hours, 2-3 hours, rated 5 across 1 traveller review.
This trip puts you on the Osum River with a team of guides who grew up around the canyon. Depending on water levels and the season, you go rafting or tubing. Either way, the route runs between high canyon walls, with stops to swim, look at waterfalls, and, if you want, attempt optional cliff jumps.
The whole thing runs two to three hours from the meeting point in Çorovodë, in the Skrapar municipality. Equipment is covered: a neoprene wetsuit, a sun-protective shirt, a life jacket, and a helmet, plus changing rooms and parking at the base. A guide leads the run and shares stories about the canyon and the area as you go. Photos and video are included too.
It suits first-timers as much as seasoned adventure seekers, and families are welcome, though a strong level of physical fitness is recommended. Transport from Berat and a traditional local lunch can be added depending on the option selected at booking. Groups run to a maximum of 20 travellers.
A few practical points will make the day smoother, from what to wear to how the group works.
Common issues. The rafting-versus-tubing decision depends on water levels and the season, so you cannot guarantee which one you will get. The activity requires good weather, and if it is cancelled for that reason you are offered a different date or a full refund. People with heart problems and anyone who has been drinking alcohol are not permitted, and the trip is not recommended for pregnant travellers or those with back problems. Transfers cover only the stretch between the meeting point and the river start, so if you are coming from Berat you need to select the transport option or make your own way to Çorovodë.
No. The format, rafting or tubing, depends on water levels and the season. Both versions follow the canyon route with swimming stops and optional cliff jumps.
Transport from Berat is optional and depends on the option you select at booking. The base trip meets in Çorovodë at Rruga Pasho Hysi, and round-trip transfers from that meeting point to the river start and back are included.
A sandwich and a personal water bottle are included. A traditional local lunch is available as an optional extra depending on the option selected.
You get a neoprene wetsuit, a sun-protective shirt, a life jacket, and a helmet, plus a guide for the run. Changing rooms and parking are available, and photos and video are included.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Cancellations or changes made less than 24 hours before the start are not refunded or accepted, and cut-off times follow local time. If the operator cancels for poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
The listing says the experience suits first-time explorers, families, and adventure seekers. You should have a strong physical fitness level, and it is not recommended for pregnant travellers or people with back problems, heart problems, or other serious medical conditions. Arrive 15 minutes early with swimwear, a towel, water shoes or secure sandals, sunscreen, and a change of clothes.
